Training – Ladders

Ladder 22 takes flight.

Taking advantage of the spring weather, the fellas took training outside and let Ladder 22 stretch her legs. After review of proper stabilization of the apparatus members were put to the test with their flying abilities. Cones were positioned in different places around the station, ladder operators were tasked to place the cone attached to Ladder 22 onto the cones across the drill field. This drill tests operator’s ability on the controls, ladder swing, depth perception and communication with spotters.

The drill culminated with the rescue of a “victim” (a lovable teddy bear) which tested the groups in apparatus placement, stabilization, ladder maneuverability and victim retrieval. Fireman Warren lead the drill.

A good time was had by all.
