Hendron & Lone Oak Fire Department alerted to respond to the 6100 block of Davis Rd for a reported fire in a storage building. The caller reported a 100′ by 200′ storage building with hay afire.
Hendron Fire Chief (201) arrived and declared the working fire in a storage building filled 1/4 to 1/2 full of hay with fire throughout. Multiple companies went to work with several hand lines on the stubborn fire in the hay. Heavy equipment was pressed into service to stop the fire progression and aide in extinguishment. Per the owner request the involved hay was left to burn outside the storage facility. Hendron cleared after operating for a few hours.
