Incident – Grass Fire

Reidland-Farley Fire District was alerted to the 5100 block of Benton Rd for a grass fire. First arriving units from RFFD arrived to field, trash pile, wooden fence, woods on fire with it endangering nearby houses. The Benton Rd command quickly requested additional resources to combat the fire.
Brush 28 with 5 and Unit 20 with the Asst. Chief hit the streets to assist. Brush 28 arrived, split crews and went to work putting its own line in service and another from Engine 34.
The crews from Hendron operated for about 40 minutes before returning. Additional volunteers were at Hendron station completing maintenance and covering the district.
