Training – Communications
This is only a drill.
The fellas spent last evening learning about and practicing our communication skills. Fireman Warren lead members in several drills ranging from the “infamous” Lego drill, calling the mayday and incident size ups.
Pictured here are several members working on putting together their “incident”. Multiple crews simultaneous went to work completing their Lego sets, by instructions read to them via the radio. This allowed a simulated environment to replicate some the stress of unclear directions, multiple transmissions occurring on the same frequency and radios operations . This environment did not include many of the other chaotic elements of the fireground. Those elements will have to wait until the next drill to be included.
